Isabela Lopera Montoya

Isabela is the Human Resources Generalist at Torrco, a Waterbury based company specializing in plumbing, piping, HVAC and bath fixtures, where she handles several aspects of the employee life cycle. Prior to that, she was a Human Resources Administrator at an HR consulting firm in Seymour, CT.

Isabela has a Master of Arts in Industrial/Organizational Psychology with a concentration in Human Resources from the University of New Haven and a Bachelor of Science in Biology with a concentration in Pre-Medicine from Southern Connecticut State University.

Isabela is currently a voting member of United Way of Greater Waterbury and is part of their Emerging Leaders’ Steering Committee.

Growing up in Colombia, Isabela had first-hand exposure to struggling communities in less privileged areas of the Country and had an interest in helping to make a difference in the community at a young age. Along with her family, she was constantly involved with the local churches in delivering meals and basic need items to families who found themselves in financial trouble. With this in mind, Isabela identifies with the work of the St. Vincent DePaul Mission and is inspired by being able to help make a positive impact in the lives of people who need it.
